Applications are open for 106 apartments in newly renovated brownstone tenement buildings in Harlem through the city's housing lottery.
The apartments are along a block of West 114th Street between Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. and Frederick Douglass boulevards, in what had long been part of the Randolph Houses public housing development. The renovations of the buildings on the north side of the block follows the rehabbing of Housing Authority-owned tenement buildings along the south side, which the city almost tore down because of how seriously they were in disrepair, but instead subjected to a pricey, historically-minded overhaul.
Those south-side apartments are now home to a combination of public housing residents and other income-restricted tenants, whereas the apartments at 265 West 114th St. seem to be all available through the housing lottery. Preference for a quarter of the north side apartments, though, is given to former Randolph Houses residents, current public housing residents, Section 8 voucher holders, and certified NYCHA wait-list applicants.
The apartments are studios and one, two, and three bedrooms. They are all set aside for households making $25,475-$66,420, with studios starting at $675 a month.

The building is two blocks from the C and B station at 116th Street, and four blocks from Central Park.
