Applications are open for 16 discounted apartments in two buildings undergoing renovations in Morrisania, the Bronx. The apartments are available through the city's housing lottery.
The units are studios and one and two bedrooms in two prewar buildings, one at 625 Jefferson Pl., and the other at 3531 Third Ave. The apartments are set aside for households making $33,223-$110,160 a year, with rents starting at $897 a month, for studios.
The buildings are being fixed up as part of the city's Third Party Transfer Program, in which the city helps organizations buy and fix up dilapidated buildings and preserve them as low- and moderate-income housing.

That building is eight blocks from the Melrose Metro-North station, and 12 blocks from the 167th Street B and D station.
